All the credit goes to Quadduc and the rest of the LGM team. It is finally possible to read .gmk files without gm7. You can even convert your gmk files to gm6! Just download the jar that I have attached and double click on it (if java 5.0+ is installed). Just open the gmk (you need to select all files filter) and save as gm6. Download (Official LGM Weekly Build 1.5.6 or later needed for conversion to work) or if you're too lazy to sort through that topic for a link, use the link below for an outdated version. The link below is not an official LGM version and is outdated, but is provided for your convenience and serves the purpose of conversion just fine. For a more up-to-date version, please use the link above instead.

QUOTE All you need to do is download eclipse and get the latest release from subversion the latest subversion of LGM or G-Java? QUOTE also make sure JRE version is set to 5.0 Actually it should be set to 6.0 or later for LGM. Although it should work for 5.0, just most of the drag and drop functionality will be disabled. -------------------- |

This tool will be included with LGM, so that LGM can read in extension packages, gmk files, etc in order to better emulate GameMaker functionality and add support for GM7.
Although it's possible that Clam is working on just getting the tool working separately first, and then adding it in to LGM. QUOTE I wonder, is this certain other file the exe? Now that would be interesting If this were the case, it would probably not be published/released to the public in order to keep the populous from freaking out over security. Instead, it would only be offered as a service to ensure that the game is indeed made by the person wishing to decompile it.

Yes, through a 2 step process.
1) Use LateralGM to convert your gmk to a gm6. 2) Use G-Java/G-Creator (when did it change names?) to convert the gm6 file to java -------------------- |

I wonder if this will work with the gm extension encryption. Nice Work -------------------- |

http://<a%20href="http://www.googl...a></a>://http:// is a good place to start.
javac can be found by download the latest version of Java Development Kit (JDK) at http://<a%20href="http://java.sun....a></a>://http:// or more directly http://<a%20href="http://java.sun....a></a>://http:// -------------------- |

The information is protected under the Norwegian Copyright Act and the United States of America's first amendment, Free Speech.
Furthermore, the license agreement of GM is ultimately too vague to tell if this is allowed or not - just as a careful reading would reveal that you're actually not allowed to edit GMK files at all, not even in GM. YYG is working on a new license agreement, but until then, this is perfectly legal. -------------------- |

That's great.
What about when the new license shows up? Will you freeze GMK support until you find another license flaw? -------------------- |
